Natural Resource Facility, Naval Support Activity Crane, IN

The project objective was to selectively renovate an existing pest control building into a Natural Resource Facility for the Navy. The mission of the facility is to monitor Crane NAVFAC’S Department of Natural Resources including soil and water testing, issuance of hunting and fishing licenses for the Navy Reservation and monitoring of explosive ordinance fields for contamination.  The new facility has nature displays, interactive kiosks, department offices, laboratory, conference area and an equipment storage area.

The project team consisted of Can’t Be Beat Fence and Construction as the general contractor and DCA as the design professional. The construction included a complete facade renovation to the street side of the building, as well as a public entry and employee entry upgrades. The interior had selective demolition; including but not limited to new HVAC,  electrical lighting and COMM upgrades, new acoustical and gypsum board ceiling systems, new floor finishes, new wall finishes, complete exterior stucco venner, and new aluminum storefront systems.
